ANY OF THESE ITEMS FOUND TO BE IN LOADS WILL BE CAUSE FOR IMMEDIATE REJECTION OF THE ENTIRE LOAD.


In an effort to maintain a safe work place, concern for protection of the environment, and to comply with existing State and Federal laws and regulations regarding hazardous and toxic waste, we do not accept or process various materials because they are potentially hazardous or contain toxic substances including but not limited to the following:

  • Asbestos or material containing asbestos
  • CFCs or HCFCs (refrigerants)
  • Gases or oils of any kind
  • Lead or material containing lead
  • Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) or material containing PCBs
  • Capacitors
  • Mercury switches or material containing mercury
  • Excessively greasy or oily scrap
  • Tanks or drums closed and not clean
  • Containers or cylinders sealed and not clean

  • Electronic Scrap
  • Catalytic Converters

  • Refrigerators & Air Conditioners: Compressors MUST be removed.
  • Air Conditioning & Refrigerator Compressors: MUST be drained.
  • Propane tanks: MUST have valves removed and purged.
  • Drums, barrels and other containers: MUST be clean and open for inspection.
  • Tanks and Cylinders: MUST be clean and open for inspection.
  • Torque converters: MUST be drained.
  • Cable and Wire: MUST be cut in maximum 3-foot lengths, or coiled and banded with at least four (4) 3/4-inch steel banding to keep the coil from unraveling.
  • Metal Banding: Must be cut in 1-foot lengths or less.
  • Aerosol Cans: MUST be empty, crushed or punctured, and plastic caps removed.
  • Whole lead batteries: Accepted at the non-ferrous dock.
  • Light fixture ballast: Accepted at the non-ferrous dock.

All loads will be inspected at the in-bound scale and at the unloading sites. If any of the unacceptable materials are found in loads or materials are not prepared as described above will be cause for immediate rejection of the entire load and you will be responsible to immediately remove the materials from our facility. Thank you for your cooperation.
